One of my old college professors once told me that Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday, because it’s a time where you can get together with everyone you love, eat good food, and not have to worry about getting anyone gifts.
I love giving gifts, but I love food and quality time more, so I guess I have to agree with her there.
Believe it or not, the holiday season always sneaks up on me and most years I’m coming up with last minute dish ideas. You’d think I would have learned by now, but sadly that’s not the case.
I have, however, slowly built up a collection of last-minute recipes that are perfect for situations like this, one of them being this recipe for baked goat cheese dip.
It’s great, and here’s why: it’s a no-recipe recipe, requires only a couple of ingredients, can be made in just about no time, and is sure to be a party pleaser. So, let’s get to it.

BAKED GOAT CHEESE DIP
Ingredients:
- Goat cheese
- Your favorite marinara/pasta sauce
- Salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning and basil (fresh or dried), to taste
- Pesto (optional, but would be absolutely delicious)
Directions:
Evenly spread goat cheese into an oven-safe baking dish of choice. Top with marinara/pasta sauce and spices. Bake at 375 degrees fahrenheit until the goat cheese is soft and the sauce is bubbly (baking time will depend on how large of a dish you’re making).
If you have time to get extra creative: You could also try mixing your goat cheese with other types of cheeses before placing in the baking dish! Some cream cheese and parmesan cheese would be lovely in this, and would definitely give it some added flavor and a slightly different texture.
Enjoy!
P.s. If you try this recipe out, let me know what you think! I’m always looking for feedback. 🙂
